SG Joinery built an outside hardwood staircase to access the upstairs of my garage from the garden including a hand made door to the building at the top of these stairs. Previously SG Joinery gave new life to my kitchen by making new door and draw fronts for all of the units. On both jobs the work was top quality and good value for money. The door, in particular, is beautiful. On both jobs Steve is almost obsessive and very meticulous about getting it 'just right' which, from my point of view, was exactly the type of tradesman I wanted. I would not hesitate in recommending SG Joinery to anyone wanting some excellent quality joinery work.

I saw examples of Stephen's work at a neighbours house. He had made double glazed sash windows to match others in an Edwardian house. I was impressed with his work. He quoted to replace three draughty Victorian sash windows for me. I thought the price was reasonable for what was a bespoke and skilled job. He took a lot of care assessing how best to copy and then remove the existing windows. He kept in touch about the job and undertook the work promptly. We have been very pleased with the results. Stephen also made cupboard doors for us and boxed in some meters in a basement. Both these jobs were well done.

We had a very specific idea for a 4.5m walnut breakfast bar for our new kitchen, which a number of designers had told us either would not work or would be prohibitively expensive to produce, but once we got Stephen involved it all seemed as though nothing was impossible, nor too much trouble, and at a very reasonable price. He too had some concerns about the logistics of such a long, seemingly unsupported, run of solid wood and particularly the delicacy of the mitred joints at each end. However, due to Stephen's ingenious hollowed-out construction and hidden supports, when it arrived and was erected it surpassed even our, particularly picky, expectations! Even now, two years later, as part of a lovely family room extension we had done at the time, it is the one thing that really gives us cause to stop and admire almost every time we enter the room, as well as attracting glowing comments from all who see it. We would certainly not hesitate in recommending Stephen and would love the chance to work with him again if another project required his skills.
